Glad You're Here...

Hi! I'm Kara.  Thanks for visiting my page while I get this project going.

I'll be building this site between January and February of 2020, as a place to keep my writing, photos, and experiences.  I'm a corporate girl by my resume, but with an itch to learn and share more of the human side of life.  I've been lucky enough to be a part of things that are greater than the normal routine of life - to fit have fit a lot of life into my years.

But really, why?  Simple.  A life in neutral is a life wasted.  

 

What's the point of it all if we are just going to stick to the shallow end of the pool?  We gravitate towards the flashiest object, the sexiest photo, the catchiest story.  These things catch our eye, but they never capture our heart.  They never move us to the point where we actually grow and experience life with a little more color. 

 

The most beautiful parts of life are the stories in the seemingly ordinary - the people, places, and things that have substance and depth.  The things that have soul.  The best parts of my life have been when I've ventured outside my comfort zone, out of the shallow end.  When I've met people, places, and things that moved me.  

 

Toni Morrison said it best, "If there is a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, you must be the one to write it."
